Supdeco students are thinking about the future of the economy

“Eco from Here, Eco from Elsewhere gives a voice to six students from Sup de Co Dakar from Senegal, Gabon, Benin, and Togo to understand how African youth envision the economy of tomorrow. How do these future decision-makers see their relationship to the world of work, leadership, and entrepreneurship? What are their ideas for achieving the continent’s development, through digital technology and finance, without depleting its resources?”

The Africa of tomorrow is seen as a young, dynamic continent full of potential, driven by innovation, a growing economy, and an entrepreneurial youth seeking to solve local challenges with African solutions, while leveraging technologies like mobile and solar power for rapid, incremental development. However, its construction also depends on Africans’ ability to reclaim their history, overcome past traumas (slavery, colonization), and engage in a constructive and culturally enriching approach to development, moving beyond stereotypical narratives.

Supdeco understood this well when it decided to open a campus in The Gambia, a strategic country whose geopolitical situation means that almost all of its trade is with neighboring Francophone states, primarily Senegal.

This program will delve deeper into the immense potential of our students in general, and African youth in particular. https://www.rfi.fr/fr/podcasts/%C3%A9co-d-ici-%C3%A9co-d-ailleurs/20260103-six-%C3%A9tudiants-africains-pensent-l-avenir-de-l-%C3%A9conomie?utm_slink=rfi.my%2FCJjZ
